Road to Logistics offers fully-funded pre-employment training for warehouse staff.
We source, screen and train individuals to become work-ready in a warehouse operative role.
Introduction to Logistics & Warehousing
A one-day course designed to give our learners a broad understanding of the logistics industry, and the context of their warehouse role within it. We emphasise the importance of safety, customer service and team work, giving examples of how their work impacts the end customer and how they are an integral part of the supply chain.
Employability
Our employability course is designed to give our learners confidence, and understand more about their role as a warehouse operative. They learn what transferrable skills they have which apply to their new career, create a CV relevant to the industry, and participate in interview role-play. We also cover topics that include employee etiquette, mental health and wellbeing amongst others.
Heath & Safety
Certificate of Attendance, Hazards and Risks in the workplace and Improving Safety Performance. Health & Safety at work Act 1974 and Operations Regulations 1992.
Personal Budgeting & Finance
We aim to give our learners education around how best to manage their new salaries Modules include: Understanding wages (deductions, tax, auto-enrolment). Budgeting and planning to budget. Protecting your income and safeguarding your future. Savings and planning for your future. Pensions and pension planning. Importance of Wills, Finance and Mental Health.
Mechanical Handling Equipment Training
Counter balance fork lift truck certificate (a 4-day course) and Manual Handling (1 day).
Bespoke Employer Modules
These are designed to meet the needs of our employer and can include:
• Receipt of goods and put away. Replenishment.
• Processing of Customer Orders.
• Picking and Packing
• Assembly of goods for despatch.
• Safe Loading of vehicles.
• Product Stock Level and Stock rotation.
• Warehouse Management Systems.
• Use and maintenance of different types of M.H.E.
• Returns
• Empty pallets/containers
• Devanning
• Different types of racking
Employer Participation
Our warehouse courses are most successful when employers can participate by offering a space in the warehouse so learners are trained within the environment they will be working as a member of staff, using the same tools and processes. We also recommend that our learners participate in work experience during the course of their program.
Full Mentor Support
All of our learners receive full mentor support from day one of the program, until 12 months post-employment. The aim is to ensure that our learners succeed and that our employers can rely on us to act as a safety net or mediator, if required.
