Before joining Road to Logistics, I was unemployed after a casual landscape job was not enough to sustain me and my family. I felt stuck in a position with limited progression. I had always been interested in driving and transport, but I didn’t know how to get started in the industry or where to find the right training and support.

I wanted a career that would challenge me and give me long-term stability. When I heard about Road to Logistics, it felt like the perfect opportunity to learn new skills and gain the qualifications I needed to become a professional HGV driver. The scheme offered support, structure, and a clear pathway into the industry, which gave me the confidence to apply.

The learning journey was challenging but extremely rewarding. The training team was supportive throughout, and the program gave me the knowledge, skills, and confidence I needed to pass my tests. It wasn’t just about driving, it also covered safety, compliance, and understanding the wider logistics sector.

I am now working full-time as an HGV driver for a company called Menzies. Every day is different, and I enjoy the responsibility and independence the role gives me. I feel proud to be part of such an important industry and I enjoy being on the road.
