Our programs have been created with employers in mind. We understand the perceived risk in employing new drivers so our courses go far beyond the basic theory and practical training.
As well as the standard theory revision, test and practical training and test, our modules include:
Introduction to Logistics
A two-day course to give our learners a broad understanding of the logistics industry, and the context of a driver within it. We emphasise the importance of safety, discussing topics such as bridge strikes and drivers hours, to ensure our drivers understand the gravitas of their actions within these scenarios. We also cover route mapping, compliance, health and safety and more.
Employability
Our employability course is designed to give our learners confidence, and understand more about their role as a driver. They learn what transferrable skills they have which apply to their new career, create a CV relevant to the industry, and participate in interview role-play. We also cover topics that include employee etiquette, mental health and wellbeing amongst others.
Heath & Safety
Certificate of Attendance, Hazards and Risks in the workplace and Improving Safety Performance. Health & Safety at work Act 1974 and Operations Regulations 1992. Bridge Strike awareness and legal responsibilities.
Driver First Assist
Training on road positioning and primary scene observations when approaching an accident. Includes external certification.
Personal Budgeting & Finance
We aim to give our learners education around how best to manage their new salaries Modules include: Understanding wages (deductions, tax, auto-enrolment). Budgeting and planning to budget. Protecting your income and safeguarding your future. Savings and planning for your future. Pensions and pension planning. Importance of Wills, Finance and Mental Health.
Employer Participation
Our courses are bespoke, meaning that our employers can have as much input into the programs as they wish. Ideally, we aim to offer all of our learners some work experience during the program, to ensure they fully understand the vocation they are entering into, but employers can also get involved with things like course design and classroom training (workshops, info about the company and roles on offer).
Full Mentor Support
All of our learners receive full mentor support from day one of the program, until 12 months post-employment. The aim is to ensure that our learners succeed and that our employers can rely on us to act as a safety net or mediator, if required.
Interviews / Induction
Upon successful completion of the Road to Logistics program, learners will then go on to have an interview and/or induction with our employer partner.
