A Positive Change for Lee and Family

I was in prison when I decided to look into becoming a HGV Driver. I wanted to make sure I had a plan which would help me to change my life for the better, and logistics looked like a great option, so I actually started on the pathway to become a driver whilst still in prison, and did some of the theory exams whilst serving my sentence.

I was told about Road to Logistics when I was released from prison and thought it looked like a great scheme because they support people like me, who have a criminal record and work with employers who are happy to offer jobs. They also help with everything from putting together my CV, to understanding what obstacles might stand in my way and how to overcome them. I really enjoyed the classroom environment – it was great to be in a room of people who were on the same journey as me.

I enjoyed my time with Road to Logistics – I think more people should be given this great opportunity to retrain and change their career. Once I passed the course, I secured work really quickly and the beauty of having a Category C+E licence means that I can do either class 1 or class 2 work and I am working all the time – I enjoy the job very much it so far.

Gaining my licence through Road to Logistics and starting a career as a lorry driver means a lot of positive change to my life and my family. I have a regular and good income to ensure I can give us a good quality of life, and I find the work fulfilling and rewarding.

I think more people would benefit from what Road To Logistics is doing to help lots of families out.
