I’ve been a telephone engineer for 20 years in total and was wanting to change my career. I wanted something where I would feel like my own boss but still a part of a wider team. I also needed to make sure I could provide for my family.

I wanted a change of career and Road to Logistics offered full support right the way from the theory test through to the practical test, and then once I had passed in offering support with finding jobs and preparing for interview.

I was not sure what to expect from the program as I knew there was around 8 days in the classroom but the tutors and team were amazing I couldn’t fault them at all, and it gave me a much broader understanding of the logistics sector, whilst also teaching me more about what a job as a HGV driver would entail – there is definitely lots more to it than just driving!

Once I passed the program, I was successful in securing work really quickly and I am now driving a HGV with HIAB laying tarmac.

This has meant so much to me and my family. It is another pathway for me to provide for us with a lot more work opportunities
